We decided that we wanted our innovative building to be an example for other hostel & hotels and in 1988 renovated to optimize efficiency and and to see our business aims include protecting the environment.
Our ambitious project to lead in the ecological sector saw us change the way we used water and electricity, recycled and reused. We began by adding solar panels and minimising cleaning agents and water waste through efficiency and water saving innovations. We also created a new refuse sorting and avoidance system and installed our furniture manufactured from ecological sources. While we renovated we also created new bathroom facilities throughout our three floor hostel – bring the whole place up to date.
These renovations were a success with guests and with our ecological goals and so inspired us to create a gastronomy area. Three years later this idea came to be as we transformed our basement to host a kitchen, dining area, restaurant and integrate the whole dining experience with our quiet courtyard.
Creating this ultra-modern facility for our guests was the highlight of our transformation project and we were thrilled to be able to open our bright, new eating area. At the same time we also created a new innovation centre for guest use – our Seminar Room. Looking over our courtyard this room offers all modern facilities and technology required for conferences, right in the heart of our building.
